Sergio Servetto on
July 24th, 2007. Sergio was flying his
newly purchased plane from Michigan to Ithaca when the accident occurred.
He is survived by his wife Viviana and sons Alejandro and Luciano.
As student volunteers we had the pleasure of interacting
frequently with Sergio. It just seems like yesterday when we exchanged
innumerable emails enthusiastically planning the events at ISIT. His
enthusiasm and insistence in ensuring student participation in all
student related events was inspiring and infectious as evidenced by the
immense success of the panel discussion and round table event at the
recent ISIT in Nice. It is hard to forget the twinkle in his eyes
when he recently discussed with us his plans for a winter school event for

wonderful idea of holding an event in the memory of Sergio at the Allerton
conference. Please do not hesitate to write and share your thoughts and
make suggestions for a student event at Allerton in Sergio's memory.
